The Township of Spring, in Berks County PA is listing for sale a 2001 American Roads Vac 25-yard trailer unit "AS IS". Vehicle was last in service for our Public Works Department through December 2024, Vehicle was replaced with a newer model and was retired. Has been sitting since and needs TLC and some work. Ran like a workhorse prior to not using anymore. Engine fires up with a jump (will need new batteries) electric brakes and tires in decent shape, need filling to move. Perfect project vehicle for a mechanic to work with/ a farmer/ or use for parts. Solid John Deere engine runs well once fired up. Being sold "AS IS"
Equipped with John Deere Engine #TO4039D575322/ 4039DF001, plus 16" suction hose. Can email Video of motor running upon request, too big to attach to file.
Exterior: Some rust evident for age and sitting out in the element, vehicle is in fairly decent shape for sitting for a period of time and not in use.
Inspections of the vehicle are both welcome and encouraged before bidding. Vehicle will be sitting behind our Township Sewer Plant located at 1004 Reedy Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
Township Supervisors will consider the highest bid and will award at their regularly scheduled Supervisor meeting on March 9th, 2026 at 7pm.
Payment in full must be made to Public Surplus. All taxes, title and transfer fees are the buyer's responsibility. Also, delivery or pickup of the vehicle is the buyer's responsibility. Bids that are blocked by two or more agencies may be cancelled. Please limit to questions only, no editorial comments, findings or opinions will be allowed.
Be advised that this item have been previously used and may contain defects. Be also advised that the buyer is solely responsible for ALL loading, shipping, transporting, coordinating payments and pickups with our Municipality within the proper time frame, no exceptions, terms and conditions are strictly enforced. Please bring sufficient equipment, tools and manpower to assist with your removal of your asset. Our Municipality does not assist with any loading of any form. The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.
