Description
Condition: SEE DESCRIPTION

MPTC's Horicon Regional Center has a dump rake (also called a horse-drawn hay rake or sulky rake).

  • The machine has two large spoked wheels
  • A long row of curved spring-steel tines forming a rake
  • A metal seat mounted above the axle
  • A lever/linkage system (partly hidden in the grass) used to “dump” gathered hay

These features are classic to late 1800s–early 1900s horse-drawn dump rakes.
The operator rode on the seat while a horse pulled the rake. When enough hay accumulated, the operator would trip a lever, lifting the tines and dropping (“dumping”) the windrow.

This style predates PTO tractors and was common before side-delivery rakes became standard.

Current condition as shown in the photo is heavy rust due to long term outdoor exposure. Most likely not functional without restoration. Decorative antique for lawn in its current state.

Moraine Park Technical College will charge a sales tax of 5.6%.

10% Buyers Premium will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction.

Take the "Notice of Award" with the "Paid Receipt" & personal identification such as Driver's License or DMV ID to the pick-up location. Releasing the item(s) require you to show all 3 documents or the item(s) will not be released. If somebody else is picking up item(s) there must be a note stating you have authorized this person to pickup for you.

All auctioned items must be removed by the successful bidder with no debris left. Any bidder who fails to remove the auctioned item(s) within the time specified herein may not be allowed to bid on future auctions. Bidder shall be responsible for any damage or cost incurred by Moraine Park Technical College as a result of the bidder's removal of the auctioned item(s).
